I am doing the mind note of the background story of my first game. I decide to choose the story from the ideas of animation, ideas of history or ideas of Science fiction future. The background story is the hardest part of my game. Because a good story will make the game unique to other games and player will attracted by background story and able to expeirence the game better. Connect to the mind note of my Level Design. I will consider about why the monster here and what are the monsters want to do to the player. And why Player need to complete each level. Next, I will continue on the sketch of the levels and the main story of background. Here is the first thing of background story direction.
Since I decided to do research online. First of all, I founded a lot of different kinds of pictures. For example, the architecture, models or cars. Secondly, I select some of pictures in order to narrow the search. Finally, I will decide what kind of art style and visual elements that I want to use in the game.
Finished the Level_1 prototype. Includes the moving platform, seesaw and spikes. Also, add the feature of death. When player touch the spikes, game over. Level_1 is a level to introduce the basic control and learn player how to pass the level and avoid the danger in the level. Send the prototype to others and play the prototype then write down the feedback in order to upgrade later. Now, working on Level_2.
